Graduate Admissions Events

Our undergraduate, graduate, and student teams host a wide range of admission events throughout the year. You can learn all about our programs, the process of applying or transferring, preparation of a portfolio or audition repertoire, and life inside our classrooms and on our New York City campus. Our Welcome Center building is located at 72 Fifth Avenue, on the corner of 13th Street, and is currently open to external visitors.
Our in-person offerings include pre-scheduled admission counseling appointments, information sessions, and campus tours. Visitors without appointments can interact with Welcome Center staff in the Welcome Center lobby.
Registration for tours through Friday, May 3, is now available. Tour availability will be limited during the university's spring break, March 11–17.
Only those with appointments will be able to tour campus. If you are unable to schedule an in-person tour, we encourage you to take our virtual tour and connect with us through one of our many additional online events.
Those interested in learning more about our academic programs, admission requirements, or campus life are invited to connect online with a Welcome Center student assistant through our Welcome Center Virtual Desk. Virtual desk hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary.

  The Office of Admission offers in-person and online appointments for prospective applicants and family members who would like to meet individually with an admission counselor to identify best-fit programs and discuss the admission process.

  Graduate class visits are available during the fall and spring semesters for the Schools of Public Engagement and The New School for Social Research. To schedule a class visit, contact the Office of Admission:

- Information Sessions
  
  We invite prospective students to join us for a scheduled online chat, webinar, or Information Session. These online events feature Admission staff, current students, alumni, and/or faculty.

- In-Person Tours
  
  Student-led campus tours introduce visitors to our academic facilities. Student housing is not included. Only those with appointments will be able to tour campus.
  Graduate Programs Campus Tours are 60-minute student-led campus tours that introduce visitors to the graduate academic facilities at Parsons School of Design, the Schools of Public Engagement, and/or The New School for Social Research. These tours provide a broad overview of campus buildings used by graduate students at The New School. Those seeking a more focused introduction to a particular area of study are encouraged to connect directly with program chairs or faculty.

  These are open fairs for prospective graduate students, which New School Admission representatives attend. These events allow you to connect with our team—virtually or in person—as well as representatives from other higher education institutions without the need to travel to campus.

  National Portfolio Review Days are annual events held in multiple locations across the United States. They are designed to provide a unique opportunity for you to meet individually with professional representatives of accredited colleges and universities and receive valuable feedback and guidance on your portfolio before you submit it as part of your application.
