
As a student at the Summer Writers Colony, you are eligible to stay in a New School residence hall for the four weeks of the program (plus an additional week, if you wish).
Affordable university housing within walking distance of The New School is available to students enrolled in the Writers Colony: a double room is $390 per week; a single room is $490 per week. If you'd like more time to explore and enjoy New York City, you can extend your stay for one week past the end of the program. New School residences feature:
- Apartment-style units with kitchenettes and private bathrooms with showers
- 24-hour security
- Air-conditioned rooms (except for Marlton House and Union Square)
- Telephone, Internet, and cable television access (except for Marlton House)
- On-site laundry facilities (linen service is available for conference groups only)
- Reading rooms and/or lounges
- Easy access to public transportation
- Chaperoned/curfew facilities for minors (call for more information)
To apply for housing, first register for the Summer Writers Colony. Then download an application for summer housing from www.newschool.edu/studentservices/housing (select Summer Housing from the menu).
