As a major in The Arts, you choose one of two concentrations:
Arts in Context
(combines an arts discipline with a liberal arts discipline)
Visual Studies
In these concentrations, you are challenged to think beyond traditional categories and forms to explore the arts as tools for self-discovery and social awareness. Central to The Arts program is a distinctive set of interdisciplinary courses, the Lang Interarts (LINA) curriculum. The LINA curriculum features discussion-based seminars and practice-based courses that bridge disciplinary boundaries and allow for exploration of the arts across broader conceptual and cultural perspectives.
The New School offers a vast selection of arts courses to Lang Arts students, including courses at Parsons School of Design and the College of Performing Arts. Distinguished visiting artists and guest presenters engage with students in workshops and public presentations such as the ArtWorks series.

While it offers the atmosphere and intimacy of a small college, Eugene Lang College is part of The New School, a major progressive university in New York City. The city provides unmatched opportunities for studying the arts, including:
