The Writing Program offers a 36-credit course of study leading to the MFA degree, with concentrations in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and writing for children. The course content of the Writing Workshops features faculty led discussion on the creative work of participants and develops editorial skill as it is applied to the work of peers. Literature seminars cover a range of traditional and contemporary topics and are intrinsic to the graduate writing curriculum. Graduate students also participate in a Writer's Life Colloquium with visiting writers, editors, and teachers.
