In his talk, he discussed how U.S. hegemony, born in the 20th century, is now facing challenges that call into question both its efficacy and its legitimacy at home and abroad. The Skate-Mind Project trains skaters in evidence-based community-led mental health strategies aimed at creating a culture of care. It's a joint project between Frank "The Tank" Watkins, an MA Psychology student and lifelong skater, and Adam Brown, a professor of psychology and the director of The New School Center for Global Mental Health.

The book has been featured in a wide variety of media outlets and was named to the New Yorker’s Best Books We Have Read in 2024 So Far list.
