Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy gives you the tools you need to realize your goals. Our New York "laboratory" prepares you for urban challenges all over the world.

Our reputation for training leaders for a better world continues to draw talented individuals from all over the globe into our academic programs.

Today, Milano continues this commitment to innovation and progress in New York, still the world's most complex social science laboratory and urban microcosm.

Our goal at Milano is to prepare students to be leaders of social and organizational change in environments that increasingly demand flexible skill sets. Our mission is actively served by maintaining a diverse, even non-traditional student population. At Milano, you are never just a number. We take a holistic approach in considering each applicant.

Building a Diverse Community

We are bound together by a common concern for people, a social calling, and a desire to advance the cause of positive change at the organizational, community, national, or international level.

Many students come to Milano to acquire the tools to advance their careers. Others are changing direction and are attracted to the blend of theory, practice, and location that gives Milano students a professional edge.

Focusing on the Individual

At Milano, we are interested in learning your particular story.

We weigh grade point average against a range of criteria. We seek candidates whose experience and worldview may be as substantial as their academic record.

We encourage talented candidates with previous public service or other work experience to apply.

While the GRE test can be a good indicator of a student's ability to do graduate level work, we do not believe that a standardized test score should prohibit an otherwise good candidate from being considered for graduate admission.

Accordingly, we recommend, but do not require, the submission of a GRE score.
