Spring 2010 Registration
From
the Director
Registration for spring
2010 courses for all continuing students begins November 2.
Here are the details,
which include several new features to streamline the process for you. Please
read carefully.
- You
have received your alternate pin number in a separate email to your New
School email address.
- All
the CRN’s you need to register are published in the online
catalog.
You may register online anytime between November 2 and November 30.
Registration
Advising Dates
Registration advising
for spring 2010 begins Monday, November 2 and ends Wednesday, November 25.
You do not need to pay your tuition now to register and
secure your seat in a class. Tuition and fees are not
due until January 10. Keep in mind, however, that if you register for spring courses
after January 10, you will incur a late fee of $150 and will find
many classes already closed.
If you have questions
or concerns about issues affecting your financial aid, contact Student Financial Services .
Course
Catalog
The Spring 2010 catalog is
available in electronic form on the website. Printed catalogs will not be
available in time for spring registration, and, in any case, the printed catalogs that will appear in December WILL NOT include
all the classes that Bachelor’s Program students are eligible to take. For instance, credit-only online courses are no longer listed in the printed catalog, which is now primarily for non-credit
students. The information you need is
on the website: for courses and other
important registration information, select "Academics" on the left
panel and then, in the drop-down
menu, select "Course Information." In the center panel you'll find links to all the course catalogs and
other important registration information.
Also, please go to MyNewSchool (my.newschool.edu) and check your
account for any registration holds. You are required to clear all holds
before you can register. Note that any hold must
be removed by the office which placed it on your account.
Registration
and Advising
This semester, with
our new advising system, you no longer need to see your advisor to register. Still, you must see your advisor at least once
each year to work out an academic plan. If you do wish to schedule an
appointment during the registration period, call the office at
212.229.5119 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If you need
additional information about courses, many syllabi are available
electronically in the Bachelor’s Program office. As an alternative, you can
contact the department in which the course is offered.
After selecting your
courses, register through MyNewSchool. (This applies to
all students, including students who are taking all their courses
online.)
Spring classes begin
January 25.

contact information has changed, please email changes to bp@newschool.edu.
