Students in the New School Bachelor’s Program design their own academic programs. The flexible degree requirements permit a wide range of curricular possibilities. For those who would benefit from guidance in creating a thematic focus, the program has defined several Areas of Study. The defined areas of study provide structure while still allowing flexibility and may be particularly attractive to students who plan to go on to graduate school and/or are pursuing the degree for professional advancement.

Course Approval Process
Prior to registration, you meet with your advisor to review the courses being offered in your area of study, select your courses, and review your progress toward the degree and the area of study requirements. A record of approved courses attempted and completed is be maintained in each student's file.
