The New School Bachelor's Program is an individualized program of study in the liberal arts. From the admissions process through graduation, you work closely with an academic advisor to discuss your options, create a curriculum based on your interests and career goals, and learn about resources available to you at the university. You can also apply credits earned at other institutions toward your degree and earn credits for prior experiential learning.

More than 400 teachers offer courses at The New School for General Studies, which they typically develop around their areas of expertise. You choose from hundreds of classes available to you in the liberal arts and creative and practical arts. Concentrated areas of study give your program structure, while classes offered on evenings, weekends, and even online incorporate school into your busy schedule.  Classes are generally small in size and involve considerable participation from you and your classmates.

As a New School student, you can also take advantage of the resources at other divisions of the university-including Parsons and Mannes. You can even begin working towards your master's degree in programs at The New School for General StudiesThe New School for Social Research, and Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy.
