The 2008 Barbara Jordan Lecture features Dr. Ronald W. Walters, one of the most renowned scholars and voices on issues of African-American leadership and American politics. Dr. Walters will examine the “social contract” between the American government and citizenry-whether the implied contract to provide life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness applies to all citizens or only some.

In addition to the customary cocktails, mingle and small talk, we’re going to be networking. After an introductory shot of liquid courage, participants will be divided up into mixed groups of actors, directors, playwrights, film producers, web designers, artistic directors, teachers, etc. Each group member will have an opportunity to meet new collaborators and speak about their projects and work. After three minutes, new groups will form, and the process will repeat, until everyone has had an opportunity to meet and be introduced to a new Drama alum.
