• The Community College Liberal Arts Pathway (CCLAP) guarantees admission for eligible students who wish to begin their studies at a community college before enrolling at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts or in the Bachelor’s Program for Adults and Transfer Students

    How It Works

    1. Apply for admission to Lang or the Adult Bachelor’s Program.
    2. Once you have been admitted to Lang or the Adult Bachelor’s Program, you will be connected with an admission counselor to determine your eligibility for CCLAP.
    3. If you are eligible, an admission counselor will provide support in enrolling in CCLAP, the U.S. community college of your choice, and ultimately The New School.
    4. As a CCLAP student, you will receive support from a New School admission counselor in planning your community college coursework.

    Program Benefits

    • You are guaranteed transfer admission with a minimum GPA of 3.0 from a regionally accredited community college.
    • You receive support from a New School admission counselor throughout enrollment at community college.
    • You save money toward your bachelor’s degree by earning community college credits—or a complete associate’s degree—before enrolling in a bachelor’s program at The New School.
    • If you are awarded a merit scholarship upon an initial offer of admission to The New School, it will be honored and guaranteed if you have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at a community college.
    • Transfer credit eligibility is pre-approved.
    • The transfer application process for future enrollment is simplified and includes a waived application fee.

    Eligibility

    • Admitted to Lang or the Adult Bachelor’s Program at The New School
    • Admitted as a first-year or transfer student who has not exceeded or is not close to exceeding the transfer credit maximum for the program
