Financial Aid: An Overview
We know that attending college is a major investment and we are committed to helping you pursue the best options for financing your education.
Our university offers comprehensive financial aid and can assist you in navigating the many sources of aid, kinds of aid, and eligibility criteria involved.
Below is general information to orient you, followed by details specific to your situation, such as the type of degree you are applying to or are pursuing (such as undergraduate or graduate) or the kind of applicant you are (domestic, international, or U.S. military service member, for example).
Here’s good news: The New School considers all applicants, including international and undergraduate transfer students, for merit scholarships on the basis of artistic and/or academic ability. There is no need to fill out a separate application — we automatically evaluate you when reviewing your materials for admission to Parsons. Merit scholarships are usually included in student admission email letters, and scholarships can be renewed for successive years.
All Parsons applicants are encouraged to visit the university’s main financial aid page and our Apply for Aid page to learn more. If you have related questions, review our FAQs. You can also email our Office of Financial Aid at [email protected], or speak to a financial aid counselor by scheduling a visit or calling 212.229.8930. We’re here to help.
Sources and Kinds of Aid
The aid you can receive depends on factors including whether you are applying as a domestic student or an international student, an undergraduate program applicant or a graduate program applicant, or other considerations, such as military service.
The New School’s Scholarship Advising staff are also on hand with workshops, one-on-one support, and other services to help you research scholarships and grant aid. Visit our external Scholarships webpage for resources including scholarship guides and email [email protected] with questions or to make in-person or telephone appointments. (Current students can also book appointments in Starfish.)
